I have to start out by saying: I HATE DEMO WORK. Hate, hate, hate it! And here is what I love: People on DIY shows grabbing a sledge hammer, smiling for the camera, then they start beating the crap out of a wall. SO HAPPY about tearing stuff up. What the hell is wrong with these people? Here is what we are not seeing, a whole crew coming behind them cleaning up the aftermath because yesterday we filled up not one, not two but THREE full sized pickup truck boxes full of stuff. And let me tell you, that stuff don't grow legs and get itself out to the truck. In my defense, I only
said complained twice about doing demo because I felt anymore than that would be misconstrued as me being a whiny bitch. (Yes, I can be bitchy about demo)
So let the fun begin!

Round 2 starts today and I should have a better blog post tomorrow! Sorry about all the dust pics.
Also, I will have a theory of how this house was built based on what we found..........teaser!
Holy Moly! That's a lot of dust. So exciting to see it all come down...although, I totally would have painted that paneling. I want paneling in my house! LOL
ReplyDeleteSandra,
DeleteRead my lips, "You do not want 1968 paneling!" It is still shocking to see it all opened up.
My you have been busy! I hate the demo process, too, but in the end is so worth it!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see your progress!
Thank you for hating demo too! We are officially friends now.
DeleteSo, you're sure those aren't some serious load-bearing walls around that staircase? Or do you have a cool plan for columns between the two rooms?
ReplyDeleteDeborah,
DeleteI will tell you tomorrow what the situation with the load bearing walls are. It is a surprise!
I actually enjoy demo work, but I've never done anything on that scale before!
ReplyDeleteMalisa,
DeleteThis the biggest demo/project I have ever done. Not knowing how has never stopped me from jumping in like that.
